Agnieszka Sergiel from our team and other wildlife and wildlife health experts from the University of Zagreb. Participants had the opportunity to learn from wildlife biologists and veterinary professionals, gaining practical experience in applying ecological and epidemiological techniques to study wildlife diseases. Agnieszka Sergiel presented students with protocols for health population surveys, biological samples collection and how to preserve them. She was also introducing students to mortalities as an important source of knowledge on populations health status. Students also assisted her during sampling of a mortality case of an adult brown bear female. The workshop provided an excellent platform also to connect with fellow students from across Europe, fostering valuable relationships with the next generation of wildlife veterinarians and biologists. We have had a great time with students and found them a very talented group. Hopefully we inspired someone to involve with bears of the world as they need all the support there is.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
The European Wildlife Diseases Association Student Workshop took place in April (7-11.04.2025) in beautiful Croatia, supported by dr hab.
