 {"id":2862,"date":"2026-05-27T12:28:27","date_gmt":"2026-05-27T10:28:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carpathianbear.pl\/?p=2862"},"modified":"2026-05-27T12:28:27","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T10:28:27","slug":"spring-research-visit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carpathianbear.pl\/en\/2026\/spring-research-visit\/","title":{"rendered":"Spring research visit!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In previous weeks, we welcomed Miguel de Gabriel Hernando, from the University of Le\u00f3n, Spain, who was undertaking a research stay with us at the Institute of Nature Conservation, Polish Academy of Sciences, in relation to several projects in which we collaborate.<\/p>\n<p>Miguel is an experienced wildlife ecologist specialised in conservation biology, working on a wide variety of topics involving biodiversity monitoring and research, including mountain birds, raptors, large carnivores and other vertebrate species. His recent research has mainly focused on brown bear conservation, advancing the understanding of population recovery, movement ecology, and human\u2013bear interactions.<\/p>\n<p>Miguel has already collaborated with our team for several years on different projects, and during his stay, he contributed to a global systematic review on human-bear negative interactions, supporting the study conceptualisation, reviewing methodology and the screening workflow.
