Welcome our new intern, Titouan Hommeau

We welcome Titouan Hommeau, who joins our team for a 3-month internship at the Institute of Nature Conservation (IOP PAN). Titouan is a master’s student in ecological engineering at the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse in France. After his experience in the habitat selection of the Iberian ibex in the Pyrenees, he aims to specialize in the study of behavioural and movement ecology applied to conservation.

During his internship, Titouan will work on the impact of human disturbance on the movement patterns of brown bears. By analyzing telemetry data with advanced statistical tools, he will assess the effects of environmental covariates related to human pressure on the spatial behaviour of bears. Additionally, he will help our team with sample collection in the Tatra National Park for our long-term studies assessing bilberry germination and survival from animal faeces.
