We are pleased to announce that Dr Nuria Selva has received the Ilkka Hanski European Distinguished Service Award from the Society for Conservation Biology for her important scientific work on the impacts of global change and for providing scientific support to the protection of Białowieża Forest and to the launch of the Roadless Initiative. The award was given in Bologna at the 7th European Congress of Conservation Biology ECCB2024, where she presented the plenary talk “Białowieża calling: a look into conservation through the eyes of a forest”.
